Dr. Tracy strives to practice both naturopathic family practice and midwifery in a way that is honest, caring and direct. Her specialties include pediatrics and women's health.
A naturopathic approach to primary care, according to Dr. Tracy, should focus on prevention and wellness. Routine health check ups provide an opportunity to address the "big picture" of your health. Using laboratory testing, physical exam, diet assessment and a thorough history, potential problem areas are identified. Nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, physical medicine, and lifestyle modification are some of the therapies that Dr. Tracy utilizes in her practice to help her clients achieve optimal health. In addition to the health of the physical body, visits focus on mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
Having given birth to her son at home, Dr. Tracy sees labor as more of an athletic event than a medical one. She believes a solid relationship between a family and its birth team is fundamental to creating an environment in which a woman can come to her labor, and a couple can come into parenthood, feeling joyful and strong.
Dr. Tracy graduated from Bastyr University as a doctor of naturopathic medicine with additional certification in naturopathic midwifery. Tracy has completed advanced training in breastfeeding support through Evergreen Hospital's Lactation program. She is passionate about protecting families' rights to make educated decisions about their healthcare and currently sits on the board of directors of the Midwives Association of Washington State. Tracy lives in Seattle with her husband Nick and their son Charlie. She enjoys road trips, hiking, gardening, and reading.
