Seattle Natural Family Medicine

Specific Plan Information: Dr. Tracy is contracted with most major health plans. If she is not contracted, you may still qualify for out of network coverage. Call your insurance plan to find out the details of your coverage. Although health insurance plans are covering naturopathic care, most continue to reimburse based on a disease model. This model may be in conflict with our naturopathic approach.  Until we meet with you, we will not know if your first visit will be coded for insurance as preventive in nature or as problem focused.

Checking your Insurance Benefits:

It may be useful to provide your insurance company with our tax ID number, which is      57-1135831. Consider asking the following

  • Does my plan cover naturopathic medicine?
  • Is Tracy McDaniel ND, LM a preferred provider?
  • Do I have a deductible, and how much is remaining?
  • At what percentage will my insurance cover my care?
  • What are my preventive benefits?
  • Do I have coverage for contraception?
  • Does my insurance cover fertility care?

If you are considering SNFM for prenatal care, also ask your insurer:

  • Does my insurance plan cover licensed midwives?
  • Does the insurer pay for both home and free-standing birth center births? (free-standing refers to a birth center not associated with a hospital)
  • Which Seattle area hospitals are in-network in the greater Seattle area?  Most often, when we transfer to a hospital, we go to University of Washington Medical Center, Group Health Central or Evergreen.  Also ask about Swedish.
